Storage

A few weeks ago T and I visited Revival Antiques, an antique furniture store, that a friend had suggested we check out.  They buy furniture you can shop from their showroom or go through their warehouse where you can buy the pieces as is or they will refinish any piece.  We found a couple pieces that we liked, but we were not ready to commit quite yet.  We wanted to go home to measure to make sure everything would still fit.
Over the weekend, we went back.  We found two matching pieces that we absolutely loved.  We spoke with the restorer on the pieces to fully understand what to expect out of the final product.  We did like the natural finish because the fronts of the drawers were so unique, but because Revival mainly purchases their furniture to repaint it did have significant damage to the detail that we loved.  That didn't change our love for the pieces though.  The art deco feel had me at hello, and T was happy that I was happy of course.
You can see some of the scratches on the fronts of the drawers here.
The left drawer was probably the worst.
Once upon a time it had a drawer, but no more.  They will be removing this for us.
The matching piece.
After speaking with the restorer, one of the owner's wrote everything up for us.  We are currently deciding on a paint color (that will remain a secret until we get them in our house).... but it will not be stained.  And if you know me.... I will give you one bit of info.... it will NOT be black (surprise, I know).
Now maybe it seems like we are cheating since we aren't finishing the piece ourselves.... I can understand that.  I think if we had a garage where we could do it on our own time and not out in mother nature we probably would have.... but until we have space to store it until it is done... we will let Revival help us out (beside's we're supporting a local business).
