If it sounds too good to be true...

It is.

While we were at Lowe's a few weeks ago we stumbled across a one handle pull out faucet on clearance for $75 (originally $138).  I immediately grabbed it (you know as if I were the first one to lay eyes on it) and then we walked down the isle to look at the display.  We didn't see it in the "stainless" finish, but in the chrome, and I have to say for an off name brand it looked pretty nice.  We purchased.
Fast forward a few days and T slices the end of his finger off.  No fear - his finger is fine and he is almost completely healed.
Fast forward three weeks and T starts to switch out the kitchen faucet (while I tackle the mountain of laundry that has built over the past two weeks - obviously NY resolutions haven't been big on my mind).  He disconnects the old faucet and goes to open the new one out of the box and he quickly realizes why it was on clearance.... it was missing the soap dispenser.  This was a key part since it goes in the hole in the granite where the sprayer was not he old faucet.  We were confused since the plastic ties that hold the box closed were still on and did not appear to be removed (the box was in perfect shape).  DUH - no wonder it was only $75.  Sigh.  Just our luck. We returned the faucet and walked to the back of the store to find a replacement.  In T's words "I've already took it apart, we mid as well get a new one so I don't have to do it twice."  We weren't crazy about the selection.  So what do we do?
Go to Home Depot.  They had LESS of a selection.  So what did we decide to do?
Go to a second Lowe's (Cary just happens to have two).  We find this faucet below.  It was marked down $20 (not the great deal we snagged before - but it was a name brand so we are hoping for quality).  We also had $50 in Lowe's gift cards that helped out too.

I noticed that two were missing from all the family fun... and found them here.
Fenway heard T share some words with the old sprayer and decided he better bring his furry little butt in the kitchen and see what was going on.
The brilliant person who installed our old faucet... did this... which did not make for a happy T.
 Was that really necessary?
After the frustration of the sprayer removal... this is what our kitchen looked like.
 After.  Ta-da!
While we LOVED the look on the box without the bottom mounting piece... we already had holes in the granite so it wasn't an option :(
After all is said and done... we learned to thoroughly check things out on clearance before purchasing.  Just because it appears to be it the original packaging doesn't mean that it hasn't been returned.  We'll still shop for the bargains.... just a little more cautiously.
In case anyone is wondering, we still have laundry.  If anyone would like to come and assist we would love to have you!
