All I want for Christmas...

Is some good luck/news/positive vibes/rabbit foot...etc.
Seriously.  You can ask any of my friends and they will all tell you I have the worst luck.  If Time Warner Cable is going to try to screw someone's bill.... it will be mine.  If there is coffee to be knocked over at work.... its on my chair.  If I go looking for an item in a store.... I'll be the one that gets there right when someone else grabs the last one.  If we have a deck rebuilt..... we will find another $500 worth of work that needs to be done.  In the past month I have had many unexpected surprises.   Some are just small irritating things while others are things that make me question the big man upstairs.

1.  Our mail man/mail woman comes later and later each day.  A few weeks ago I began to notice that we didn't receive mail on some Friday's..... then I noticed it was most Fridays (gess someone wanted to be somewhere else?).  So now I don't get mail on some week days too.... THANKS CARY MAIL PEOPLE... y'all are awesome.

2.  We hit a deer less than a mile away from my dad's neighborhood while leaving his house to come back to Cary.  It's just too ironic that my dad always says "be careful, don't speed, and watch out for deer" so what happens the day I drive down especially to see my family for the day?  A doe runs out in front of my car.

3.  I went in for a teeth cleaning and had a cavity.  I go to get it filled and turns out I actually have two.  Merry Christmas bank account, why of course I wanted to spend double right at the start of the holiday season.

4.  We went to buy a Christmas tree before Thanksgiving (like we have the past two years) so that our parents will see our my Christmas decor while they are in town for the weekend.  We went to Lowes: 0 trees then Home Depot and they had maybe 3 unwrapped with nobody in sight to help assist... instead we broke down and decided to purchase a faux tree.

5.  We decide to test out the wallpaper in our bathroom and find that isn't the only wallpaper on the wall, but another original layer from 1978.  This will take a steamer, patience (which we all know I don't have), and more patience.

6.  Our outlets outside, the sitting area in the kitchen, and the kitchen itself are all on the same circuit breaker.... so when we put up our Christmas lights and then go to run the microwave or stove.... the circuit flips.   This was pretty funny I have to say the first time.... but now we have to remember not to use kitchen appliances while the Christmas tree and outdoor lights are on... lol.

7.  And the only one that matters, the phone call I received last Friday morning at 9:15am at work.  My grandfather, who is like a second father to me, had a massive stroke and is being rushed to the ER.  This is my grandmother's other half, her world, and most of all her reason to live.  She is absolutely devastated seeing him lying in a bed still non responsive after 5 days.  While I was with her over the course of three days before I had to return to work I completely forgot that she has never pumped gas in a car, taken care of finances, pulled money out of an ATM, or know where anything "important" is located in their house.  Regardless what the big man upstairs decides she is going to have to learn who to do these things and my uncle and I are going to have to help her.  I have been mentally preparing myself for the worst, but hoping for the best.  It just doesn't seem right that the big man above would let this happen to someone who had no signs of a stroke, especially so close to the holidays.  My grandparents saved their whole lives to be able to travel, see things, do things that when they were born could not dream of doing and over the past few years health has completely taken that dream away from them.

....so y'all now know the reason for my absence.  Despite the fact that I have lost my mother, a boyfriend, and close friend in the course of 13 years and I don't think I can handle any more.
