October Birchbox

I'll admit, Birchbox is the best bang for your buck (most months) and this month made me happy!

This month we were given the option to select a Goop box or regular October box.  I chose the goop box in hopes for something really good!  Goop is a great style and food source website where there is a ton of inspiration and picks from their contributors.

I almost didn't recognize the box in the mailbox
Very editorial looking, like Goop's website
Open it up... and...
Birchbox stepped it up with printed tape now
The Goods

  • Essie - nail polish:  This goop pick polish in "Carry on" is a deep burgundy red perfect for fall and the holidays.  As I said in my review of the Luxe Box I have a special place in my heart for Essie polishes, they have some of the best colors and the best lasting formula.  I like purchasing mine from Target or Ulta (because I have a Target Redcard or Ulta sends out coupons).  Full size item $8 value.
  • Joanna Vargas - Daily Serum: This brightening serum contacts vitamins A, E, C and hyaluronic acid.  I've never used any facial serum's so this will be my first.  I typically like to try out these on the weekends so if my skin has a bad reaction I at least have a day before I have to be seen in public, lol.  It's never too early to fight wrinkles and dark spots though!  For a full size product it would set you back $85.
  • Marie Veronique Organics - Body Oil:  This is my first body oil product so I'm hoping I can talk T into giving me a massage... my shoulders (especially my right one) kill me from sitting at a desk all day at work.  A full size runs $36, but it appears to be a pretty hefty bottle so it would last a while.
  • Sprout - Lip Balm:  This is one of the four lip balms sold in a flight together.  I received the flavor Cocoa and I have to say it's the oddest tasting lip balm I've ever tried before, I'm sure the peppermint, citrus, or cinnamon would all be great choices though!  The value of this is $4.5, all 4 sell for $18.
  • Luna - Lemon Zest Bar:  This bar didn't last too long, I actually had it for breakfast the next day. I've been a fan or Lara bar's but I actually liked the flavor better in this lemon bar better!  They typically sell for $1.25ish in stores.  Birchbox sells them 15 for $18.75.
This month's box made the icing on my cupcake because I received a full size Essie nail polish in a fun Fall color.... but I'm looking forward to trying some new facial products for the first time too!  Did anyone else love? hate? kinda disappointed in their box?
