Julep Maven Box

I decided to continue Julep for another month.  Ironically the next box was only a week away (how nice, right?) so it arrived and it was adorable.  It's fun to open up the mailbox to something fun, but alas this will be my last Julep Maven box for a few months.  I think it's a great box, great quality nail polish, and even great nail care items.  It boils down to I can only paint my nails so many times and I would rather try out a range of products with Glossybox vs. only nail polish.
Bright summer inspired box.
Look, it fits together so neatly in it's yellow crinkle paper home
The goods
What was in the box:

  • Julep's Nail Vernis - Daisy: This is a color that I have been wanting to purchase for a while now and when I saw it was offered in this month's box, I couldn't wait to receive it.  It's the perfect bright summer yellow.
  • Julep's Nail Vernis - Robin: It's a great aqua color that when paired with yellow looks much deeper in shade than just alone.
  • Julep's  - Daylight Defense SPF 30:  This sunscreen is intended for face and hands per the bottle, I'm not sure if I would apply to face since it doesn't read oil free (and I would most likely break out).  I think it's a great sunscreen to use if you are going to be out in the sun but not sweating, say dinner outside, concert, etc.
  • Julep's - Daylight Defense SPF 15 Lip Balm:  This vanilla mint flavored balm is great to throw in your pool bag.  It stays on a while without feeling sticky or greasy and I feel that it really moisturized my lips.
  • Free Polish voucher!   This month there was a free nail polish voucher in my box so I could go chose any color I wanted.  I ordered yesterday and chose Sienna, I had been wanting a good gold polish for accent nails and this one (I hope) is the ticket!!
Sienna, found here.
  • There were also two pixie stix in my box too, it was a fun little treat.  I don't think I have had a pixie stix since I was in middle school?
So while I do plan to cancel for a few months just because I don't feel I "need" too many nail polishes I do plan to purchase a few boxes here and there.  I definitely think if nail polish if your thing that this is your box!  The boxes are expensive but when you total the cost of whats in them, if you were to purchase on their website it would be significantly more than $20.  Another plus is that you receive 20% off everything you order with free shipping (and their shipping is on point!).... remember my box only took 4 days to get here from the other side of the US.

I should also mention that Sephora carries the Julep line too!

Have a great day.

  1. If you don't like your gold julep maven polish you should check out Color Cube foil polish in disco nap. It was in my May birchbox and it's a great gold color. I loved it and bought the full size bottle.
