Until recently I had not heard the term "bucket list" and I never truly thought about making a list of things I want to do. I'm only 24 years old and I have so much time left in my life, why should I start thinking about the things I want to do before I leave this world? The more I have heard people talk about it on tv, the radio, and other blogs I gave it a little more thought. It is basically just making a list (and who doesn't like making a list?) of everything you ever want to do (big or small). Surprisingly I don't want to do anything extreme like on many people's lists (ie. skydiving, go on safari, or live in another country not native to my language) because the idea doesn't entertain me. These are the things on mine:
- Take a cooking class. I do not want to be a chef, but I think it would be fun and a bonus I might actually learn how to do some things "properly." I think T would do this with me too.
- I want to be a runner. I don't mean I want to run marathons, I just want to have the motivation to run on a weekly basis, say, 12 miles. I don't mean do this once and then I've met my goal, I want to run because I like the way it makes me feel (except when you get new shoes - then its painful, lol).
- Learn HTML and CSS. I want to be able to create/edit websites (aka. my blog).
- Recently I was given a sewing machine, I feel its only right to learn how to use it.
- Go on a road trip with T. I don't mean somewhere close, I mean somewhere that we would have to stop and stay the night and explore a new town on the way to a destination.
- I want to start taking and learn to enjoy fitness classes (again). I used to take at least 4 a week and I LOVED them, it was kind of like time for just me and I was pretty darn good at them too.
- Try new foods. The possibilities are endless but there is so much that isn't in our "typical" diets. Some of them include: Tofu, Veal, endless cheeses, and other elasticities food.
- Start painting again. Maybe set a goal of a new piece or two every month?
- After I start painting again, successfully sell a piece of art (to nobody I know)
- Lose 20lbs and maintain that weight. I think the running and fitness classes will support this one.
- Keep my car clean. I will clean out my car about once a month (or maybe every other month) but I always let it go again. It's mostly mail, wrappers from gum, water bottles, and things that never make it out of my car like the Christmas tins that are currently floating around....for the cookies I didn't have time to make.
- Cook the recipes in my moms recipe box.
- We have always wanted to master simple syrup so we can make a mean mojito
- Go to a Red Sox game
- Go to Charleston
- Plan meals for each week every week. (We have been doing this, but not consistently)
- Go to Europe (specifically Italy, Ireland, and London)
- Go vineyarding in Napa Valley
- Build something (a table, built-in seating, etc)
