If anyone reads this and knows me in real life, they know that I love me a magazine. I realize that I am living in a digital world where I could purchase subscriptions online, on a ipad (wait, I would have to have a ipad first), or even emailed to your inbox. Nope, not this girl. I'm old school - there is something about a paper magazine that just makes me all giddy inside. The smell of the newsprint, ripping out the subscription cards when you first get it, and dog earring the things that you want to remember to check out later.... all smiles and total relaxation. Maybe it's my ADHD (joking, I am not diagnosed with this - just a short attention span). Most people read books and I truly wish I could be one of those people and maybe one day I will be. Until then I subscribe the magazines. Let me clarify I do not spend tons of money on these subscriptions (I promise). Every one I have found through a deal where I spend less than .50 an issue - do the math in your head, most magazines are $3 plus in stores.
Well - all except one.... HGTV Magazine. I received an offer in the mail (did they know I was a sucker for HGTV and I fall asleep to it almost every night?) that announced HGTV was launching a magazine (heaven). Their launch issue was in October I believe, definitely before any holidays since there wasn't any holiday decor. I have to admit that I was slightly worried when there wasn't a November/December or December/January issue... I was thinking to myself... great there wasn't enough interest in the magazine and now I've already paid for it (just my luck right?). This week my February/March issue arrived. For anyone interested the magazine seems to carry some of the same topics each month separated into categories; help wanted, fun decorating, real estate spy, mission makeover, kitchen chronicles, and weekending. I don't want to spoil it for you, but I highly recommend! (And no, HGTV did not pay me for this - wish they did)
Blue themed cover - not my fav, but don't let that fool you.
Just while flipping through I spotted this image. It really inspired me to get our third bedroom in order - you know sometime in the ear future!? T has guitars that we would like to hang on the wall.
I like the "Bang for your buck" items each month - fun and kind of affordable items that you might not have known about. I love the 3x5 chevron rug on the right from Ikea for $39 and the Blue Raised Flower pot from Chiasso for $28. Even if you don't see anything you particularly like on this page the magazine is slam full of stores/websites that I have never heard of and love to check out.
Of course it is impossible to lay on the couch with at least one dog...
Sometimes two!
