Over the past two weeks I have attempted to be as productive as possible. Sometimes I was more productive than others and I am thankful that I get the random things that I wanted to finish up in order to make the house more presentable for our family coming up. (My dad and T's parents are coming... in just a few hours... wine is in the fridge people!)
I want to:
FINALLY paint the guest bedroom- Tada, The color is trying to grow on me, hopefully it does because it's finished.Hang the lights on the back deck- They are hung, we need to paint the cord and attach to the house so it looks more clean.-
Get the house decorated for Christmas(If we don't do it now our parents don't see it) - I need to make/find at least 20-40 more ornaments so that my new colored tree comes together - This kind of happened. Because we are used to having a 8 feet plus tree our fake (OMG, I know I broke down and bought one) tree is only 7 1/2 feet tall because we put the tree in the kitchen sitting area. (I lost the battle of moving T's chair in the LR to have a big tree...)
-
Spray paint some decor- These are the frames on the mantle that now hold Wedding photos. Get 3 yards of burlap- and a bonus we got yellow fabric too!Wrap what few Christmas presents we have thus far- people haven't given us any ideas yet.Address Christmas cards- Addressed, stamped and ready to mail out the week after Thanksgiving :)Have some copies of some pictures made to go in frames on the wall- With the new scanning feature at Target it literally took me less than 5 minutes to scan in the photos, edit, and print.-
Hang the curtains in our bedroom- Luckily we found the perfect panels at Bed Bath and Beyond and i just so happened that I had been saving up coupons. We got each panel 20% off (yes, that meant we had to make three trips lol) Clean up our laundry area(So nothing falls on anyone while they are here)-
Hang a tv?(A girl can hope right?)
TV hung. We know it is large for the room, but we love out TV. We are going to work on a solution for the cables eventually.
I should not have started this project yet... every time I am in the bathroom it bothers me and I want to work on it and right now I just don't have the time. We did get a steamer though, so hopefully after Thanksgiving the wallpaper and I will have a date.
I finally have the picture in the frames!
Wood stacked all nice and pretty, this is work when you don't have a wheel barrow to move!
Protected from the rain.
The mantle. (Sorry I forgot to turn the pillow around and fluff it)
Our yellow themed tree! I will take a picture with the presents but our beagle seems to like to chew the streamers I used to wrap the presents...sigh. At least they will look good for a picture, right? I also need to take a minute and make a bow (it's coming). The bags/boxes you see are the outdoor lights, maybe T and his dad can hang those this weekend?
Here is the GR post paint... the camera washes out the color. Sorry! I tried.
See my pretty presents? They are safe from a beagle's mouth up there. I kept it simple with just some bulbs in a bowl for a center piece and a tree forest is on the table on the other side of the DR table. Notice the stack of Christmas cards ready to be mailed? Yes, I'm early, they'll go out Monday!
I just realized I didn't to take a picture of our new curtains in our MBR... accidentally or intentionally, you be the judge (because our bed probably wasn't made, lol). I'll try to remember to take a picture tonight and post.... depending on how the night is going.... have to prep for Bird Day (aka. Thanksgiving). Let's just say Fenway calls it "the spa" now, and it kind of reminds me of one (the curtains are white). It allows more natural light and we have found that he is constantly sneaking away from the main area of the house to the bedroom because he likes going to the spa of course?! (In reality the dog has never been to a spa, we bathe him and attempt to cut his nails - he cried bloody murder and I'm pretty sure our neighbors think we are killing our dog each time we try.... we usually get about 3 nails clipped at each attempt).
