Our Weekend

This past weekend was VeRy NIIIIIICE!  (In my best Borat voice)  We didn't have any visitors, expectations, or plans.... basically we were free!  We used to look forward to the weekends when we DID have plans and now we look forward to the weekends we have nothing.  Having nothing to do seems so "newlywedish" so that we can frolic around doing as we please, that's exactly what we did.

We hadn't been downtown in a while and with all the new restaurants opening up in the past months I begged T to go somewhere new.  We went to Ashley Christensen's newest restaurant, Chuck's, serving some amazing gourmet burgers.  She was on Iron Chef America, for those of you who were wondering who in the  world Ashley Christensen.  She also has three other restaurants here in Raleigh; Poole's Diner, Beasley's Chicken and Honey, and Fox Liquor Bar.  Chuck's was great - we both got "The High and The Valley" - mmm.

Later that night we went to Lincoln Theatre to see The Movement.  The two opening bands were pretty good too.
Hor!zen

Three Legged Fox

He was funny - he twitched his leg the entire time like he had to pee. (maybe he did?!)

The Movement

It's always great when your husband pets your head like he does our dogs

Saturday we ran errands - it hasn't felt so good to run errands in so long.  There wasn't any rushing, we had no place to be, and we did what we wanted.  After that we came home and messed around the house a little bit.  We straightened the house up and then we walked outside... it was GORGEOUS.  T replaced a storm door handle, you know the little kind where there is a round knob on the outside and a small handle on the inside you turn down?  Yeah - ours had locked me outside many a times and finally we found one at Home Depot (after a guy at Lowes told us they didn't make replacements).  I pulled out my thrift store lamps to give a little update to.... but.... let me give you the run down.

$7 thrift store find

All prepped and read to go! (Slade had no interest)

After about 1 1/2 coats.... I ran out of white paint. (Epic Fail)

I didn't go to the store for more spray paint - I should have.... instead I showered and invited some friends over.  Somehow a glass of wine and friends sounded so much better than another trip to Lowes.

This is where my weekend went from productive to lazy....sigh.  Sunday we didn't do much at all.  T made pumpkin pancakes for us - it was so sweet and they were delicious.  Now, two days later I am finding that the pumpkin waffle mix is EVERYWHERE... I think the boy went in the kitchen and thought he was painting or something?  I mean the granite back splash, cups, glasses that were drying, wallpaper ad the list goes on.  It was such a sweet gesture but maybe I should've been in there to wipe up  supervise T.  <3
