A few weeks ago while I was spray painting these lamps (that I ran out of spray paint and are still waiting to be finished) T wanted to check out the dead branch that is attached to a live tree in our backyard. He decided to go out and investigate how "dead" it was and see if we could simply pull it down. We wouldn't have much concern about it but it has the possibility of falling on the deck, house, or fence (depending on the direction of the wind) so we were going to just pull it down. Luckily we haven't done much of anything with the back yard so if/when we can pull it down we don't have any worries of damaging anything. The plan sounds easy right? It's about 50ish feet in the air (problem began). He tried to first throw the rope up tied to random objects to get it over the branch. It didn't work. He knew the rope was weighing down the throw so he pulled out the fishing line and attached it to a heavy dog bone that stays outside. This is where I should've had the camera handy because he was able to get it over the branch and the dog bone was floating mid air. Slade thought the bone gods were dropping down a piece of heaven... he was staring at it and attempting to jump 5-6 feet in the air to get it. I ran inside for the camera but by the time I returned he figured it out, gave up, and was pissed laying on the outdoor bench resting on a cushion. (Epic picture taking fail) So T's idea was to pull the rope up now by attaching it to the fishing line and pulling it through... and then the rope was too short. The rope was 100 feet.... and he wouldn't have been able to even attempt to get the two ends in his hand. So after he looked like this for almost an hour....
