Mid Week Thoughts

It's hump day!  It's only two days till the weekend baby!  But I'm happy for today...there was free breakfast at work this morning, I am officially a notary, and I finally made two purchases that I have been indecisive about (I have to try it out before I tell).  Usually I count down to Friday each week and it makes the workweeks SO much longer, instead I'm trying to embrace the workweek and make the most of each and every day because let's all face it life is too short.  For a while after I started a full time job I have had the mentality that you get up go to work, come home, cook dinner, clean, and go to bed only to get up the next day and do it all over again.  Wrong.  It made me dread workdays and I found myself slipping into a slump of depression, irritability, and nothingness.  Instead we now run errands during the week, tackle projects (sometimes), watch movies, and just plain enjoy ourselves each day instead of only on the weekends.  I have to be honest, I actually adopted this mentality a few months ago and I have to say it has improved my daily mood drastically!  Just having a positive attitude when you wake up in the morning and not letting the little things bother you makes all the difference.

So I have given a little thought to things that make me happy lately....
  • Shampoo and Conditioner in pump containers so you don't have to pick up the heavy things in the shower.  (Yes, it really is the little things like this)
  • Finding a really cool idea, project, or just learn a new use for something on Pinterest.... this is when I make a squealing sound from the couch and T pauses the tv, and looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell him what it was.
  • My dogs.  I'm not sure I could love any other dogs more than I do mine.
This is a rarity - they usually both aren't laying with me but I love it.
  • Getting the Sunday paper and it have more than two packs of coupons (Holla!)
  • When T starts dinner before I get home :)  I just learned to not ask any butternut squash to be cooked.... he got a little confused with 20 and 40 minutes and they were hard as a rock, it's okay he tried and it's appreciated!
  • Waking up early on a weekend.  I know most of you think I'm crazy for saying this, but if I do it naturally I feel like I get more of a Saturday and I have more time to do the things that I would like to do rather it be running, painting, or errands.
By no means are these the only things that make me happy, just a few that I thought I would share... I realize that some are completely weird and y'all may think I have gone off to the deep end, but it's me.
PS.  Since I totally forgot about the (completely unofficial) Pinterest Challenge I will be back tomorrow to post my little project!
