Does anyone else hear those words from their other half's like I do? Sometimes I will point at something in a store and smile and T's response is always "what are you going to do with that?" or "where are you going to put that?".... literally I think those phrases are stamped in his brain as "automated responses to wife" so there is no delay, because if there is a delay I might think I have a chance at getting what I am smiling at in the store isle! Don't get me wrong, I know we don't need EVERY duvet cover that I see or even every time there is a new printed dish towel, I get it... its called storage and budget saving! (Of course I want y'all to know I don't expect to get everything I want either)
I'm sure by now everyone has noticed that white ceramic owls are everywhere.... what makes a owl popular? Not quite sure, maybe they were next on the list? Literally there are owl dishtowels, measuring bowls, plates, lamps, vases, pitchers, catch-all trays, prints, and even on clothes! Here are a few that have been on my fav list...
So of course I wanted an owl "something" and I got to thinking.... I remember my grandmother having a owl umbrella stand when I was little. So I asked her about it and she said that it might be upstairs in the attic.... so I journey upstairs to her attic - nada. I tell her that it's not up there and then she says that she may have given it to my mom, to check over at my dad's house. Of course I forget to ask when I was down that trip to MHC. Fast forward about two weeks and I ask my dad, he says, "well, I would check in all the closets and if it isn't there go upstairs...but I think I remember it in the guest room closet." Wow - it had been at my dad's house the whole time and I never knew. I wrapped that baby up in a sweatshirt and put him in the backseat under the dog's hammock.

Needless to say I am pretty excited about Mr. Owl to be added to our house.... especially since he was FREE! So when I grabbed it at my dad's and took it to the car all the while T is saying "where is that going to go?" and my dad sitting there laughing.... of course T couldn't argue since it was Free and my dad was happy to get something out of his house. I win.
(In case you didn't click on the amazon umbrella stand... it's $129.76!!!)
And in case you are wondering Mr. Owl has been relocated to the sitting room next to one of the side chairs. Now I just have to find the umbrellas so people know what his use is! I secretly think the dogs are a little freaked out by him, lol.
