One Year!

Holy Moly!  It's been over a year, I completely missed my one year blogversary!  I have to say keeping up with it for a year (with the exception for the month of December) I am quite proud of myself.  There are few things that I find that I "stick" to because I usually get bored or discouraged and let it fall to the back burner.  If I could figure out what keeps me "going" at blogging maybe I could use it towards other things...like working out?!

I wanted to take time and reflect on what I have learned about blogging.

1. You have to edit what you really want to put out there sometimes.  There have been times when I am writing a post on a project or after an occurrence has happened and I could just go off, but because this is the internet and anyone could lay eyes on this it puts me back in check. 
2. I have expressed a few weeks ago that I learned very quickly that I wasn't going to be able to solely have this blog be about decorating, updating, and projects on our house alone because it's EXPENSIVE!  I have learned to incorporate other topics like our dogs, beauty sample boxes reviews (that I actually learned about through another blog), cooking (the good and the bad), our weekends (which is my favorite part of the post because I get to relive it as I write it), and venting.  While I still very much enjoy DIY, creating, updating, and all the projects in between it's going to be on our budget and slowly...
3. It can feel demanding at times.  Last fall I would sometimes feel like I was being a bad blogger because I didn't have a project to post about or something fun we had purchased and then I realized that the 10 people that do follow and read this blog on a daily basis wouldn't care if I posted everyday or not.  It didn't take me long to realize that this was just a hobby and hobbies don't have to go everyday.  
4. In the course of a year I learned a lot about blogging.... and I also learned that I have ALOT more to learn!  There is so much out there that I can play around with to make my blog better in so many ways.  I would like to get some photo editing software (I should see what is out there free and then compare to purchasing some).  
5. There are a ton of bloggers out there!!!  I would love to work on my blog and eventually meet up with other girls in the area.  I think it would be fun to meet new people that share this interest since there aren't too many of my friends that blog (and some of those don't get it).  

I can only hope that I continue to enjoy blogging because I think it relaxes me (yes, I know to some working on something is the last thing that relaxes them).  If there is anyone out there that blogs, has advice, or just wants to say that I'm crazy.... feel free to leave a comment!  I welcome all feedback!
