| Spring is officially here |
Our azalea's started to bloom towards the end of the week.... it's actually the only time of the year that our yard looks half decent. While pink wasn't in our original plan for the landscaping they were already there and they do bloom really nice (at least for the one month of the year when they flower). After they bloom this year we plan to cut them back and shape them up, if they die or don't live we plan to pull those suckers up and start from scratch. Right now we want to add some more shrubs to the island and possibly monkey grass. I know many don't like monkey grass, but its easy to keep alive and always green. We just need a good full day of sun that we can get out here.... there are still no plants in my pots yet either :(
We didn't accomplish too much this weekend around the house, we're okay with that because we had a nice relaxing weekend. In the past four months this past weekend was one of the first that we have not had some family in town or gone to visit family. It's good to spend some quality time with each other and see our friends. A few highlights..
 |
| Celebrated a friend's 27th birthday - complete with side ponytail action! |
 |
| We usually have two dogs staring at us eat dinner every night... |
 |
| This chair was 50% off at World Market when I went this past weekend.... I resisted, but I do love them. |

| Smash book. Find out more on it here. |
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon Smash books - they are basically a hard cover journal with pre-printed pages that comes with a pen and glue stick in one that stays with the journal with a stretchy ring. I realize this may sound "young" but I like the idea of getting a nice hardcover journal with nice thick paper for $12.99. PLUS, since I purchased at Michael's I had a 40% off one regular priced item and then received 20% off my entire purchase! I couldn't have purchased a regular artist journal for that price! So why get one? I have a blog, why do I need a journal? I have been talking about taking all the workouts, meal plans, and healthy tips from my health magazines for years into one book instead of holing onto the magazines themselves. So say I want to switch up my workout routine (which everyone should do) I could open it up and see another workout to complete. Or I want to think of healthier options to cook for dinner? I hope to start logging my workouts in here as well and using it to encourage me to work out MORE.
In other news:
- Tonight I'm going to my first spin class in months - my butt will most likely be the sorest part of my body tomorrow
- Tomorrow morning I agreed to go to the gym with a girlfriend at 6:00 am to work out before work. I cannot believe I committed to this, but I just have to think that tomorrow afternoon when I get off it will be all "me" time and not have to go to the gym.
- Slade, our beagle, is alive and well. He ate an entire bag of Easter candy last Sunday (aluminum foil and all) and miraculously he threw it up or passed it all. Thank goodness because if we would've had to taken him to the vet, we wouldn't have been able to afford our Anniversary Trip in two weeks!
Hope y'all have a great Monday - the workday is almost halfway over!!
