Lately I feel like everything is just beginning to come together, like there are pieces of things working but there is still a long way to go. There are a few things I like in each room of our house and then there are several things that need tweaking. I don't mind that decorating is always an ongoing process because I think tastes change and things you used to be in love with.... you no longer are in love with looking at everyday.
In our old townhouse we had the guest room grey, orange, purple, white, and black. Since we are ballin' on a budget we haven't swapped everything out just yet. I painted T's old dresser grey and then stenciled on a design (stenciling is much more difficult than painting on a canvas in my opinion) on two drawers to give it a little personalization and it worked great int he townhouse, but now since the walls are a mauve - pink - orange color it doesn't exactly mingle the way I had planned. So I'm debating painting it yellow? green? or teal? In the mean time we picked up some fancy knobs at Hobby Lobby over two months ago but they were too long to use on the dresser until after T had cut them down. Of course this sounds simple, get the dremel out and cut what is needed off (insert dremel lesson here for M) there has to be a special steel cutting end not he dremel in order for it to work. Over the course of a month I think we have been in four Lowes stores each time the store was out of the part we needed, surprised? Luckily Sunday while we were in Lowes they had one, we scooped it up. In less than 10 minutes ally he knob ends were cut down and ready to be put on the dresser. In case you are wondering the old knobs were the original wooden knobs that I had previously painted orange, but were becoming wobbly despite having washers to help hold them down.

| and you can see that I will need to touch up the dresser even if I don't repaint the whole thing. Problem being I don't know that we still have this paint :( |
 |
| This happened when we moved last year, I almost want to say the distressed look is growing on me |
When the DR furniture was delivered we moved this sofa table next to T's chair and he really likes having more space to sit/store things but the problem was that it ended up in piles next to his chair. Thanks to randomly wondering around Lowes trying to find things we happened to walk down the storage isle and I spotted these guys. Two sturdy baskets with a thick texture weave that fit almost perfectly on the lower shelf. One basket holds a good amount of electronic stuff and the other a few magazines, manuals, and coupons that come in the mail.

| Looking down into the baskets. |
Typically you won't see all this junk from the other side of the room since his chair blocks a good portion of it all. It's just a huge step up from having piles of stuff next to his chair.
 |
| They overhang about an inch on either side but there don't appear to be baskets that narrow that would hold anything. |
Am I a little OCD that I don't mind things stacked up and organized but cannot stand things to be laying around? Trust me, nothing is perfect in our house at all times, but I would like to think that we are always making improvements. I remember we used to clean top to bottom before people came over because we were both guilty of leaving stuff laying around EVERYWHERE and now there is less and less need to do that. I'd like to think this is a little bit OCD and a little bit growing up.
PS. Remember I purchased a juicer? I tried juicing for the first time this morning and while I wanted to love it and drink it all (because I didn't want to waste the produce) I did good to get 5 good gulps down (almost half of the drink). I juiced a tomato, cucumber, two handfuls of blueberries, and a carrot..... OMG, DO NOT JUICE THIS COMBO. I was thinking that it would taste decent, no, not even close to it. I gagged and almost threw up the first sip, I was discouraged because my friend's had never tasted this bad and I had tried many different combos that she juiced. Tonight I am going to the store to get some apples, pears, oranges, etc to help with the taste. I think my problem was that I didn't have enough "sweet" fruits to counter the cucumber and tomato.
