It's Fall Y'all!

I can't help it, I'm southern.  I can't help but think of Paula Deen every time I think or use the word "y'all."  While it may not be "proper" to use in a formal setting - heck with that,  I've grown up saying it and I always will.  Funny story - While I was in high school and my first year of college I worked at the Sanitary Fish Market back home.  It's been there for what seems like FOREVER and has a reputation.  There are typically large parties, wedding rehearsals, camps, etc that come in daily throughout the summer.  One time a friend of mine and I were working a wedding rehearsal dinner and they guests were standing everywhere (not allowing other servers to get to their tables).  Our manager asked us to request that the guest sit down so we may take their drink orders - I requested these two ladies sit down and I used the phrase "Would y'all mind siting down so that we may take your drink order" (or something similar - this was 6 + years ago) and the two yankees ladies laughed and said "did you hear that, she said "y'all" isn't that cute?"  (grinning from ear to ear....sarcastically)

Our side door (notice the sky holly's are still not planted)

Weather permitting - this should look MUCH better after the weekend

I have a confession... I have had pumpkins out for almost two weeks.  BUT I was a little smarter this year.  Last year we purchased two pumpkins and spent $15, sure I love to real thing, and I LOVE seeing them out.  This year I purchased 5 artificial (I can't bring myself to use the word fake) pumpkins at Michael's when they went 50% off.  For all 5 I spent roughly $20.  I figured that since I don't enjoy the carving process (I just don't have the strength in my hands for it) that i would try this option and hopefully save some $$.  Since they are sitting outside at our front door as well as the side door which get sun for a good portion of the day I imagine they may fade.  I'm okay with fading, that just gives me an excuse to paint them a fun color next year.  What I AM worried about is squirrels gnawing on them (I believe we live in a squirrel sanctuary).  I'm sure I just painting a wonderful picture similar to hoarders with thousands of squirrels that I feed daily, lol.  Nope, I don't feed them, they crossed the line when they dug up my bulbs and flowers - hope you find EVERY last acorn you buried this winter.

My house has smelled like Bath and Body Works "Leaves" scent for quite sometime now.

Halloween candy - that probably won't last until Halloween.
T's Sour Patch Kids and my Carmel Apple Pops.

I have my Halloweenish dish towels out.  My fav is the "eek" since it has been coined my word apparently.  T doest he best impression - but its second nature to me.

I appreciate the weather!  I no longer have to worry about sweating.  These 70 degree days can stay here... at least until November.

It's Fall Y'all

Okay - So I'm a tad bit early.  But in our book fall begins this weekend since it is the first NCSU football game.  We are lucky to have season tickets with another couple, we always have an amazing time.  they recently had a baby and we are taking my Uncle and a good girlfriend in place - we will have to live up to our tailgating standards :)  Nothing beats tailgating, cooler weather (even if it is only 80 degrees), and bath and body works fall scents were released!  (I have already bought a Leaves and Cinnamon Pumpkin candle).    I thought I would share a few photos from fall last year.
