Pumpkin

Since I am not carving a pumpkin for for second year in a row (I know, shame on me)... I wanted to share with you a pumpkin from an Irish bar we went to last week, Napper Tandy's.  I think this is an awesome pumpkin and it really took some time and effort!

Happy Halloween!  I will be passing out Halloween candy tonight, might even sit outside with some mulled wine so I don't have to battle the dogs every time the door bell rings!

1st Halloween in the House

I had been looking forward to passing out candy to the cute little trick or treaters in our new neighborhood this year.  I thought maybe we'd meet some new neighbors that we have yet to meet, see the cute little costumes, and give out the bags of candy that have been taunting me for the past few weeks.  Instead there was a surprise - my grandfather needed to get an MRI and my grandparents are horrible with directions.  I drove them over to the office and waited with my Meme (my grandmother - she never wanted me to call her grandma growing up) and then went out to dinner with them.  It wasn't what we had planned for Halloween, but it was nice to get to see them.  They were supposed to stay the night, but they don't like staying away from home and instead decided to drive home at 7:30.... I tried to tell them, their too old to listen though.
We did manage to get home for some late trick or treaters...my favorite was a girl dressed up as a grim reaper while he dad followed behind dressed as Michael Myers.... I let her grab as much as she wanted!  She was the best costume I saw all night.  They're were a couple cute little toddler aged girls dressed as bee's.  I think the one time T went to the door he got two tween girls dressed as Slutty McSluts - he didn't know if they were trick or treaters or hookers he said.  What parent lets their thirteen year old girl out at 8:45 at night dressed in mini skirts and fish net stockings?  Let me go get the parent of the year award....
See the tooth mark?  Yeah - I told Slade that he wasn't going to get candy because he didn't dress up.... he didn't agree with that.  I turned my back and he had a piece in his mouth (a whole piece of taffy with wrapper)
Lesson: this will what happen when you retrieve candy from a FA beagle.
The piece of candy retrieved (see the tooth mark?)
 All ready
The bowl was quickly relocated
Our last trick or treater was at 9:15ish... we were the last to turn our lights off on the street.  Next year maybe it will be warmer and we can sit out on our front porch and hand out candy.  MAYBE I will even dress up!  Anyone see any great costumes?
