Crunch Time

I wish I was talking about working on my fitness... that would probably be easy to juggle right now.

Instead I'm talking about the fact that my in-laws will be here Monday, my dad Wednesday, and my grandmother Thursday.  Oh boy!  I have a bad habit of trying to set goals to do way TOO much in the few weeks before guests arrive... why do I do this to myself? lol.

You can check out my original post here.   Let's go over some of the things that I wanted to do...

  1. Cornice in the kitchen (I still can't find a fabric that I like even after a month!!)
  2. Install a board to hang measuring cups on in the cabinet to make extra room in the drawers
  3. Hang the gallery wall in the kitchen (started....)
  4. Add a shelf (or two or three) in the SR (probably not going to happen)
  5. Fire Pit
And things that NEED to happen...

  • Address Christmas Cards
  • Shop/Wrap Christmas Presents (I only have about 3-5 presents left to buy!)
  • Put up the Christmas trees (Yes, you read that correctly, we have multiple trees this year) (Friday)
  • Do a good deep cleaning so Meme doesn't try to clean my house on Thanksgiving (started)
  • Clean out the fridge, really well, to make room for the massive amounts of food we're going to have to store.
  • Wash out the cooler and prep for a beverage cooler to be kept outside (to have additional room for the fridge)
  • The weekend before get caught up on all laundry and have it put away (right now, we're up to date)
  • Plant the Crape Myrtle and Japanese Maple tree that Meme gave us months ago (again, so she won't try to do it that day)

So I guess y'all are here to see some progress?

When I was "cleaning" out the front bedroom (you'll see why I say that sarcastically) I found a frame that I had forgot about for a few months.  I purchased the frame from Michael's for around $10 (with a coupon of course) and put a .99 cent card from Trader Joe's in the frame and it was the perfect wall art for out bathroom!  Not that I've ever had any issues with artwork being in the bathroom but if moisture were to get it, I'm only out $12 max.

It's the perfect touch
See.... look at the guest room all ready!  There isn't any clean clothes waiting to be folded either!!!  We've even got fresh sheets on the bed too!
Waiting for guests to arrive...
Below you will see what has to be tackled tonight.... I have a few presents left to wrap and junk patrol. Since I don't think we are going to have time to do the shelving I had hoped for before guests arrive I think I'll have to just organize and straighten up.
Just a few weeks ago this room was perfectly straight, why can't we keep it that way?
The real reason why there isn't too much to share is because we decided to tackle that one project that is a surprise and it's taken more time that we first anticipated but I can already tell that it's worth all the hassle.
