The wall behind the tv bothers me, there is some awkward negative space and I'm not sure what I want to do with it.
I've been thinking a lot about DIYing a tv console/cabinet because all the ones I love in Pottery Barn are slightly out of my price range. I've recently seen several versions that people have done and the one below has my heart, it's very clean, neat, and just the right about of detail to have good character.

There is also the kitchen wall....
I've left it just bare since we plan to take the wallpaper down and paint it. The wallpaper is this orangey/tan rattan texture and it is just too "Caribbean" for my taste. I've toyed around with the ideas of making it several things; a bike wall so we would be more prone to use our bikes but I figured the wall would just be torn up, a command center with other shelves and frames, create a half table so it appears the organizer isn't just floating on the huge wall... let me share what has inspired me.
I've loved board and batten... but I'm working on getting T on board. We are fully aware that the kitchen walls are not going to be in the best shape from our experience with the master bathroom (that had the same hideous wallpaper). I think by putting up the board and batten that it would take away from the wall, even after we "repair" it won't be perfectly smooth.

Have a great Tuesday, I'll be brainstorming of more ideas and looking for a dresser.
