September Birchbox

This month I actually received my Birchbox at a pretty decent date this month... although I still don't understand why they send the shipping notification when it doesn't ship for another 5 business days.

September marked Birchbox's two year anniversary and they included "The Fall Lookbook" which gives inspiration on Fall makeup ideas, products, nail trends, and fashion.  It's very similar to Glossybox's "Glossymag" (but I have to say that I like Birchbox's much better since they use their employees as the models and let you know links to the tutorials videos).  I was surprised because I figured I would open this and kind of toss it figuring it was just advertisements for products, but I loved that I could see what exactly the models were wearing (make up wise) and how to paint my nails with a chevron design.

I loved the teal tissue paper - made me want to go put on a sweater and leggings. 

 As always, The Goods:

•  Boscia - Oil Free Nightly Hydration:  I was pretty skeptical when I noticed that there was a sticker on the sample tube.... so I'm not sure if Boscia is just trying to reuse the tubes or if it's not Oil Free Nightly Hydration.  Whatever lotion it is... it's $36 for the full size.

• Bvlgari - Mon Jasmin Noir: A sprayable perfume sample is better than one with a cap on ANY day!  It is very strong and slightly on the "mature" side of the spectrum I think it's good to keep in your purse in case you forgot to spray something on! (Who am I kidding, I keep all my perfume samples in my purse) Full size options are $47 or $83.  
• Color Club - Tweet Me:  I have received two other color club polishes in previous Birchbox's and I'm happy with the samples because nail polishes are fun.  I received the Chartreuse color called Tweet Me, these were made especially for Birchbox with a social networking theme.  $8 for full size.  
• Twistband - Lace Hair Tie:  While these twist bands definitely don't hold your hair for a workout but they are great for work, dinner, or just trying to do something a little different.  6 for $14 or 12 for $22.  
• WEI to go - Sleep Over Kit:  This small kit includes camellia oil-infused gel cleanser and a moisturizing face tint.  The package is the nicest foil pack I have ever received in that it has two facial cleansing gel's and one resealable package of the moisturizing face tint.  I definitely plan to save this to use when we go somewhere (no vacay's planned at this point).  $19 for a "full size" travel kit.  

Lifestyle Extras - 

• Mighty Leaf Tea Company - teas assortment:  The sample pack of teas are nice because with fall weather I tend to drink A LOT of hot tea, it's probably the cooling temperatures or the fact that I switch over from cool to warm drinks.  I have taken these to work with me to hold me over until dinner time. 
• Birchbox Digital Download - Tristan Prettyman:  Birchbox gave us two songs of Tristan's new album.  I think you can download too if you click on the link.  I liked the music, songwriter feel that isn't all "pop" like and something you could listen to at work to add to my mix. 

This month I actually liked my Birchbox, T didn't think it was that great but I guess he looks at it and doesn't see the value that I did this month.  I wish I would've got the polish in the rose gold color, but I think the Chartreuse color will be fun to accent my nails, maybe I'll give the chevron nail design a try... if I find the patience.  Thanks Birchbox for a great box....
