Live and Learn

I posted last week that we finally bit the bullet and purchased the boys some elk antler "bones" that we have heard and seen so much about everywhere.  We were smart that we purchased offline through amazon using a gift card because while Slade will occasionally chew on them and Fenway kinda will sniff them, it isn't either dog's favorite bone.

So what is there favorite bone?

Apparently hooves.

We bought a 10-bag of hooves on sale at Petsmart for $9.99 and it's like we gave them the world.  They were more excited about plain ol' empty hooves than they have been over any other bone recently.  We like that they are happy about a cheap bone, but we are less than pleased when it comes to the smell of them.  We typically just burn a candle to hide the smell of the hooves.

So we lived and learned and will buy cheap from now on!

What happens after a good ol' chew fest you ask?  Bedtime.

Fenway was skeptical of the photo taking in bed - he said he felt violated

In case anyone can't tell - they are my babies... sorry I don't have tons of kid photos to share, I have dogs!

PS - Any dog lover/owner out there please be aware of all the recalls taking place from dog food, treats, and bones Made in China.  They are causing a great deal of healthy problems and it's much better to spend the extra $1 or $2 to have something made int he USA to protect the four legged friends we love!
