Reality

When I began this blog last summer I wanted to document turning our house into a home.  We I have so many projects floating in my head that I would like to complete, but I have to remember that with projects comes $$$.  I looked back on my blog over the past few months and notice that our projects have kind of slowed and the blog has turned more into documenting our lives, and I'm okay with that.  While I would love to have the time (remember we are normal people who work full time jobs) and money to do everything we want to do to the house we realize that it is going to be a process and we will have to save and budget for things.  So while I would love to rip out the tile and carpet to have one cohesive flooring or replace the cabinets or even demo a wall.... these things will have to wait.

While we budget and save for larger projects we plan to tackle smaller ones...

• Getting rid of the survey detail piece of wood over the sink.  I would like to knock this bad boy out so it feels more open, less country, and more light.  I would like to put a recessed light there or make a covered cornice is a bright/light colored fabric.  

Daytime isn't terrible

Nighttime - it's way too much for us. 

• I want the GB to come together more than it is, but spending as little as possible.  Maybe sell the current black furniture and find a matching set of nightstands and a dresser.  I think it would be fun to paint the headboard gold or white.  I definitely would like to find some fabric and make some pillow covers.  i like the pinky/mauve, gray, and yellow.  I think some navy or teal would tie in nicely.  

• I need to find a place for this rug, or craigslist it.  Right now it is laying in the SR taking up space.

• I would like to put some curtains up, hang a shelf, add a tv, and incorporate the navy, purple, and gold color scheme.  Again add some pillow covers.  The wood side table/storage case will probably be painted purple or white.

While we would love to knock down a wall, replace flooring, take down the wallpaper in the kitchen tomorrow... we will have to wait and save up for things like this...
