Customer Service is probably what makes or breaks beauty sample boxes (and ANY company) but when you are dealing with a sample subscription service that the only form of communication is through email, phone, or social media.... you really have to step up and do it right. This past month I probably have read close to 100 complaints about Glossybox here in the US. I get it, a lot of people didn't see that they ship out their boxes at the end of the month, but they have more issues than that! In the past nine days (eleven if you count the weekend) my tracking information did not change after the third day until after I received the box and then every transaction showed up. Let me remind you that I can order Julep from Washington State and it be here no later than 4 days of purchase.... Glossybox is coming from New Jersey (significantly closer) and takes twice as long!
Now let me say that after watching other countries' Glossybox opening on Youtube I feel like the US has some pretty stingy products. I watched Canada's and they had three full size products, which is what I expect for $21 a month. I'm hoping that Glossybox works their kinks out with the sizes.
I want to clarify that I am pleased with my box - I do like the products... just wish they were a bit larger.

| This month included a Glossybox magazine - pretty much talked about products to use during the summer. |
 |
| The presentation is still one of their strongest points. I'm still thinking about what I want to do with the boxes. |

| How my box looked once I opened it up. |

| The goods. |
- Beautyaddicts - Show-OFF Mascara: This full size product is formulated with argon oil and it said to not clump or smudge. $20 value
- First Aid Beauty - Smooth Shave Cream: This shave cream is supposed to prevent irritation, lengthen your smoothness, soften, and moisturize. I like that this is fragrance free because when I shave with fragrant gel or cream I tend to get more irritated and often times I just lather with my body wash instead of using a shave product. This sample is valued at $4.85
- Kinerase - Restructure Firming Cream: This cream contains kinetin that is said to be a better alternative to Retin A because it works better on sensitive skin and promotes cell division. It also treats rosacea, eczema, and dermatitis. $13.83 for the sample.
- Shea Terra Organics - Ultimate Moisturizing Body Creme: I received the lavender scent which is very strong (I feel all lavender scented items are very strong). I used this on my elbows that are extremely ashy this time of year and it did moisturize them pretty well. On the packaging they have printed 99.7% natural and on Glossybox's card it is 30% organic.... I don't get it all, but I guess they are trying to be good. This sample is a mere $2.00.
- Wella Professionals - Enrich Moisturizing Treatment: This moisturizing treatment is made for fine to normal hair and has an amazing scent to the product. I have received a couple moisturizing treatments and usually use one at least once or twice a week. This sample is valued at $2.00, but it makes me happy because if I like the product, the full size is only $12 so I can afford to purchase if I fall in love with it.
Extra
- A Perfume Organic: I received half of a sample in "Urban Organic" which is the "hippiest" perfume I have ever smelled in my whole life. The card reads "a sweet lemon sorbet with bourbon, tangy lime peel, basil, ginger and smoky vetiver?. A citrusy, lavender and grapefruit make the most delicious combination" - all I hear is that they mixed everything together and decided to produce it. No thanks. .41 oz is $65.... $65 that I will be saving for something MUCH better.

| They should give this out at Bonaroo |
 |
| I love trying luxury mascara's - probably because I have used the same one for almost 10 years |
 |
| Love the smell of this Wella Professionals product! |
 |
| Notice anything here? |
 |
| There was a "NEW" sticker covering something on the label. |
 |
"Hypoallergenic Non-cosmedogenic for all skin types" Sketch, lol. One would think they would want to show that information when trying to sell their product |
 |
| To me, this looks like a jelly jar. |
 |
| I hope this works - I would love longer times between shaving. |
 |
| ... in case you are wondering what the product card looks like (very similar to Birchbox) |
Glossybox has addressed that they are working on their issues and admits that they are new to the country. They currently have 12 employees (that I last read) so for 12 people to do it all I guess there isn't enough manpower to support the demand. I hope they work things out because they have a great reputation in other countries and I would love for the boxes to get better.
Happy Friday!!! We're going to the beach!!
first of all, LOL at "ashy elbows"!!!
ReplyDeleteSecond, I LOVE the SheaTerra cream. I have been using it on my feetsies and I love the fragrance, reminds me of a spa.
And you are totally right, that perfume is wretched!
I'm glad I could make you laugh :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has been the Wella moisturizing treatment. The mascara was clumpy the two times I used it, but did give a dramatic effect.
I didn't even want to touch the sample of the perfume after I smelled it - I got part of the newspaper to get it off the table with and threw it in the trash then immediately washed my hands!
