Our Weekend

We another another GORGEOUS weekend here in NC, with temperatures int he 80's and the humidity down (from what it usually is).  We managed to fit in a little bit of everything.

Friday night was our date night at Tony's Oyster Bar & Restaurant and we are happy to say that the food was wonderful.  I couldn't decide what I wanted to I made my own sampler plate.
My sampler dinner I created
T got a haircut after much nagging that it needed to be done for the past three weeks...in my defense he always reminds me when we are in the car, at a restaurant, or with friends.  Luckily I remembered Friday night so Saturday he could get some sun and not have a white line around his hairline.

Saturday morning we took the boys for a walk around the neighborhood before walking down to the Cary Downtown Farmers Market.  The market had about 15-20 vendors, mostly selling fruits and veggies.  I always walk through first and then go back and get what I thought looked good for the best price (I think I got this from my dad).  We managed to get some veggies and some homemade dog treats for the boys.
Bacon flavored treats, these were kinda like small squared cookies - our boys approved
Their tail/nub was going a 1000 miles a minute
I don't think they lasted for more than a minute - but they smelled like human food!
That wasn't our only farmer's market of the day, we also went over to Waverley Place Farmers' Market. This was another smaller market but this one had live music by Jason Adamo.  We decided to have breakfast outside at Fresca Cafe, it's a modern cafe that serves you your iced coffee in a glass like you would get a milkshake or mixed drink.  They did take a good twenty minutes or so to get our food, but it was worth the wait, we got homemade croissant breakfast sandwiches.  It was nice sitting outside listening to live music at breakfast, how many times can you say you've done that?  This was our first.
The remainder of the day was spent at the pool getting some sun.... and I'm starting to believe that if I used SPF 15 I get burnt less than if I use SPF 30 (which makes no sense).

Sunday we decided it was time to do something productive around the house.  I swept around the side door and the front porch, weeded the front bed, said goodbye to two pencil hollies, wiped down and spray painted the rocking chairs since they were starting to wear a bit, demolished the spider webs, and discovered a hornets nest (eek).   T cleaned his grill out, mowed the yard, watered the grass, started clearing the area for the fire pit, and made me a shelf.
This was in the grill, gross.
This is the after - I should've taken a before, but forgot, you couldn't even see the burner covers, they were covered completely.
T in the early stages of the fire pit - clearing out all the pebble dirt getting to found level
The start of shelves for the hallway

T's stud finder didn't work so well at first, lol.
Oops.  We'll have to notch that out.
It was a fun weekend - 5 more days till the next one!
