Dramatic

That's how T probably thinks I am acting.  Let me tell you why...

Wednesday I come home from work to find a huge puddle of pee on the mat in front of the back door to our house, thankfully the mat has a rubber backing and absorbed it all.  I'm assuming this was Slade, since I've never seen Fenway pee that much... well, ever.  At the time I was annoyed that either T didn't make them go off to deck to pee at lunch, but T told me they were in the backyard for about 20 minutes while he mowed the grass.  So I assumed he decided to drink a lot of water because sometimes when they stay outside a while he likes more water, understandable.

Fast forward to this morning.  Since I go to the gym before work I get up at 5:15ish every morning but usually the dogs just roll over and fall back asleep.  This morning Slade popped right up and waited at the door, I figured he just wanted food (the dog could eat every minute of the day if we let him) but when I opened the door he darted to his bowls and immediately drank the bowl dry.  He then ran over to the fridge (yes, we give our dogs filtered water from the fridge) and sat there and begged (like he usually does for food).  I gave him more water and then waited for the dogs to go pee before I left for the gym.

The reason for my concern is that Slade never cares or drinks a significant amount of water.  Many thought immediately go through my head.... diabetes, renal failure, kidney or bladder infection, etc.  Slade is usually a lazy dog, so laziness wouldn't be detected because the dog loves his couch and has always cuddled up in a blanket for a good portion of the day.  One reason why I am freaking out is that we learned a few months ago that Waggin Trails dog treats were recalled, something about their manufacturing in China and causing renal failure in dogs... of course that happened to be our dogs favorite treats.  I immediately tossed everything of that brand, other brands mentioned, and anything made in China.  I can't help but worry about him, he's my first dog and I can't bear if something happens to him.

I realize that some people are like... "Oh, it's a dog"  well - that's fine, but he is like my child, so imagine if this was your kid.  :(
