It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... at least that is what I am telling myself despite all the speed bumps. Over the weekend we had planned to accomplish quite the list. I have a love/hate relationship with lists because they keep me on track but also makes me feel like no matter what I do I always have more to do. I had a life lesson I would like to share - don't waste your time spray painting plastic or glass bulbs. I think I spray the bulbs with 4-5 light thin coats of paint and because there is no "flat" surface they ran. Luckily I plan to use many of them as decor in vases or laying around the house so I can hide the bad spots and nobody will ever know (unless you read this - s*&^ secrets out). I also come to another realization - T will not do anything when a football game is on regardless that we pay for DVR and the game can be paused.... epic fail.
I worked on my paint chip garland, but I want to finish before I show a picture to show how much time and effort this baby project took me - I better love it.
So let's check in from here to see what we have done.
Spray Painted some cheapo bulbs for decor
*Note to self spray and THEN stick in the ground to dry to make sure the bottoms are covered*
*Also - don't try to spray paint stuff that already is coated in glitter - doesn't cover well*
OCD kicking in... hyperventilating(jk)...OMG this isn't my DR table?!
Remember all the corks I have? Some are finally getting used!
This little guy was left in the Target parking lot and I decided to give him a home - complete with a new coat of paint.
I realize it looks like a death trap after the bulbs came off.... I cleaned up so no dogs were in harms way.
Spray painted random frames on hand to get a cohesive look for some wedding photos
*Not to self, do not attempt to spray paint a mat for a frame, even though it dried for a whole day it still stuck to the glass and messed up*
Ta-da. We have a wine cork tree. Surprised?
Sunday we went down to Morehead City (where I am from) to see my family and to eat some of these guys...
They were amazing, we left promptly at 5:30 to be home in time for the Patriots game kick off. Only to get less than a mile down the road to hit a deer. Thanks a lot... not! Thank goodness T was driving... and thank goodness I didn't freak out when I saw my precious. RIP bumper, grill, hood, light, brush guard. :(
bumper still on though!
Somewhere on HWY 24 there is a fog light
It almost looks like the Lexus is trying to talk, lol.
Missing brush guard
Something got in here good.
I'd have to say that the funniest thing is that the Trooper that came to file the accident report thought that my dad wanted to keep the deer meat because he offered to move it off the road. Lol, ONLY in Carteret County would a trooper think that. My dad was just worried about someone else hitting it and it messing up their car as well. I'm most surprised that the dogs didn't freak out the whole time.... the whole process set up back about 45 minutes on our trip. Neither Slade or Fenway barked at the trooper (thank goodness) and after the first five minutes of checking out their surroundings they both sat down calm. It's weird like they "knew" or something.
So Anyone else making any ornaments? Eat a bushel of oysters? Hit a deer?
Just curious :)
